Taking Stock of SUA Community Celebrations for Resounding Victory at 2022 Nanenane Agricultural Exhibition in Morogoro, Tanzania

When it comes to executing activities of core University mandates, Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) is always determined to fly the University flag at very high standards. Consistent to the University vision of maintaining leadership in academic, research, outreach and provision of services, SUA community, as part of outreach endeavor, cheerfully celebrated resounding victories won at annually celebrated Agricultural Exhibition- popularly known as Nanenane Exhibition, which was held at Mwalimu J.K. Nyerere Nanenane Ground in Morogoro from 1st to 8th August 2022. The Eastern Zone Nanenane Exhibition draws exhibitors from four regions of Dar es Salaam, Pwani, Morogoro and Tanga.

The University lifted four prizes including a trophy and a certificate for the first winner in the category of University and Colleges, a trophy and a certificate for overall second winner in all categories of exhibitors.  The awards were presented to SUA by Hon. George Simbachawene (MP), the Minister of State, Prime Minister’s Office- Policy, Parliament and Coordination during official closing ceremony held on 8th August 2022 at Nanenane Ground in Morogoro. The 2022 Nanenane exhibition, which was officially opened by the former Prime Minister Mizengo Kayanza Peter Pinda on 4th August this year carried the theme titled “Agenda 10/30: Agriculture is Business, Participate in National Census for better plans in Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries. This 10/30 agenda, according to Hon. Pinda, aims at achieving 10% agricultural growth in Tanzania by the year 2030. The resounding victory prompted spontaneous and cheerful celebrations among members of the SUA-community for a well-deserved triumph.
